Lavish Kuala Lumpur Wedding

Wedding

Featured in Tatler Asia, this extravagant two-day affair was, hands down, was one of the most epic events we’ve ever photographed – it was everything and more. Chris & Teeng’s lavish wedding weekend took place in a beautiful light filled glass house that was custom built and designed by Teeng and her father against the urban sprawling backdrop of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Considering the amount of planning and effort that had been put into the building of the venue and planning of the wedding, the ceremony felt exceptionally unique, personal and intimate with an elaborate display of thousands of the couple’s favorite flowers.

The day started off at the Yeoh residence, where Christopher fetched his bride with his entourage of groomsmen, after passing a series of challenges set forth by Teeng’s bridesmaids.

The couple’s invitation suite and personal wedding motifs were inspired by the bride’s love of florals, pinks and toile de jouy patterns.

From there they departed in a procession of cars to Sentul Pavilion. Guests were whisked off in golf carts to the venue entrance where they were warmly welcomed with a spiral staircase photobooth adorned with a plethora of flowers.

Teeng walked down the aisle in a gorgeous custom Elie Saab gown paired with matching Elie Saab ceremony shoes and a bouquet full of peonies in pale purples and pinks.

A lunch reception followed where guests were served a delectable 5 course meal by Chef Akashi Kimora of Cilantro. Guests were treated to a drinks bar filled to the brim alongside custom cocktails selected by the couple, and a dreamy desert bar filled with treats featuring the couple’s wedding emblem.

Guests were served a delectable five course meal prepared by Chef Takashi Kimura of Cilantro Restaurant and treated to a wide selection of drinks, which included custom cocktails pre-selected by the couple. A dreamy desert bar filled with treats featuring the couple’s wedding emblem provided a luxurious end to a sumptuous meal. Not to be missed was a 3.5 foot-tall, 4-layer Belgian chocolate cake by Jessica Ting of Miss Shortcakes. Magnificent sugar flowers in the shape of peonies, roses, hydrangeas and parrot tulips encircled the cake in a spiraling fashion, evoking the grandeur of the towering glass pavilion.

The day was followed by a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with their families. Symbolizing the union of two families, the newlyweds offered tea in respect for their elders and in return, their elders offer blessing through the gift of red envelopes and gold jewelry, an act of welcoming the bride and groom into the family. Pei Teeng wore a chic red cheongsam by Lady Jane while Chris wore a modern Chinese black outfit by Wong Hang Tailor.
