Colonial Era Hotel Wedding at Raffles Hotel Singapore

Wedding

Chris & Teeng tied the knot in an intimate civil ceremony at the historic Raffles Hotel Singapore during the pandemic surrounded by their immediate families.

Their Singapore wedding weekend exuded refined elegance and was a sweet reunion for their families, whom they hadn’t seen for months. On day 1 of their wedding weekend Pei Teeng wore a flattering Viktor and Rolf volant flower mermaid gown featuring Japanese crepe and a bow that gracefully draped down her train in the back. The bride walked down the aisle arm in arm with father Dato’ Yeoh Seok Kian while their families looked on.

The couple said their “I do’s” under a lush arch by Fiore Dorato filled with the bride’s favorite flowers and colors, David Austin roses and peonies in shades of pink. The ceremony was followed by a beautiful hui li (回礼) ceremony on a balcony overlooking the hotel’s scenic courtyard, and a traditional tea ceremony where Pei Teeng wore a customized Adrian Gan gown and Chris wore a traditional outfit by Shiatzy Chen.

In the weeks prior to the wedding, personalized gift boxes and invitations were sent to all of their guests – even those who couldn’t make it  – as a warm way to let them know they were thinking of them in the midst of the pandemic. Their invitation suite was inspired by the moon and the bride’s love of florals, pinks and toile de jouy patterns.

The following day they hopped into the back of a gorgeous Rolls Royce before joining their guests for a sumptuous dinner at Esora, an award winning modern kappo-style Japanese restaurant located in a heritage shophouse. Because of the couple’s love for Japanese food they chose this venue to celebrate with some of their closest loved ones in Singapore.

This Humid House filled the dinner space with a floral installation titled Rōzu, a rose fantasia that transformed the space from its then Winter menu season into a Spring setting. Surrounded by lush flowers, good food at the Michelin starred restaurant and good company, the couple and their guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of great food and revelry, with a delectable menu helmed by chef Shigeru Koizumi.
