Featured on Grey Likes Weddings and set in one of Southern California’s most beautiful, light-filled historic venues, Ebell Long Beach was the perfect venue for Jonathan and Alison to wed with its Spanish-revival architecture, sculpted archways, crystal orb chandeliers and mosaic floor. Having grown up in Southern California, Jonathan and Alison felt an instant connection to its bold tiles, lush greens and natural light from above and decided it was here they wanted to mark the beginning of the next chapter of their lives together.
They chose to accent their day with a modern romantic wedding aesthetic with lush whimsical florals in blush, ochre and rust and modern acrylic signage. Rows of clear chiavari chairs made a show stopping statement as they reflected the bride and groom’s classic style, encouraging a more light and airy feel as the gorgeous light shone down from above. The front of the atrium where the ceremony was held was accented with a most stunning floral arch.
Jonathan and Alison’s wedding was one of the most thoughtful weddings I have had the honor of photographing. Not only did their wedding aesthetic turn out so beautifully, but they were so kind to treat their bridal party and vendors to unlimited free snacks and coffee from Lord Windsor Coffee just across the street from the venue.
On top of that they personally gave extremely thoughtful toasts to honor each individual parent, as well as each individual who had played a roll in each of their spiritual formations. Having been cheer captain all 4 years of high school, Alison made it a point to have her entire bridal party dance a choreographed dance on the balcony before marching into the reception.
The night ended with them dancing the night away with close friends and loved ones.
